Crossbowman:"The real question here is: had the Japanese not attacked Pearl Harbor and triggered U.S. intervention at that point, would the Russians have won WW-II and occupied Europe? " That's a nice little essay, there. A good read. As long as the Soviets could hold on to Baku, I think the outcome would remain in doubt, since petroleum-propelled airplanes and armor kind of had obsoleted horses by that time. Dumb question: What were "they" fighting so furiously about, at Stalingrad?
Crossbowman:"It would seem that the "domination" of the "powerful and vicious ruling elite" is not as thorough as they would like. " Institutional and individual hubris eventually unravels. Do you remember the mouse who freed a lion from nets in Aesop's Fables? |
