The Main Library in Stalingrad continued regular hours during the entire siege. However,there may have been a tank repair depot on the eastern outskirts,but the T-34 was produced in huge quantities, east of the Urals.
Stalin knew that Hitler would ram his head against "the wall" at Stagrad. This would allow Zhukov time to prepare for Kursk. Stagrad was supplied with food, small arms,mortars,and rockets across the frozen lake - history's first "Ice Road".
