Religion position statement: "Specifically, The Truth Tree opposes the religious ideas of prophecy, miracles, life after death, and the efficacy of prayer in bringing about actual physical changes in the world. "

Sorry, Remi, I find that flat statement about "efficacy of prayer" to be psychologically and realistically inept and untrue.

Human experience is rife with our expectations and desires resulting in realities.

Admittedly, huge cities have sprung up from scratch in less than 200 years in the USofA, and I wouldn't try to say that they were particularly expected.

OTOH, great universities have been formed and grown from humble beginnings, even from ?arbitrary confident expectations and some "prayers".

Naturally, the specific unanticipated results may differ from precise aspirations of the founders. Why? Why not? :-)
